TMJ is Temporomandibular Joint Disorder; this disorder can result in significant pain. The TMJ refers to the two joints located at the front of the ears, where the upper and lower jaws connect. Anyone suffering from TMJ can suffer extreme discomfort, manifesting in chronic facial pain and headaches. If a patient’s teeth don’t fit and slide together in harmony, one or more of the head and neck muscle groups may begin to suffer from fatigue which is what triggers this pain.
Treatment for TMJ can vary depending on the severity of each individual case. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, please contact us at Bligh Park Dental for a consultation with our dentist who will be able to recommend the best course of treatment for you.
